Om Shanti Om

The International Cinema on BYU campus showed this movie tonight, and I chose to go with a couple of friends and enjoy a night of Bollywood. I totally agree with Angela in that I would rather be a Bollywood star than a Hollywood star. It's like a musical only better! Om Shanti Om is about a man named Om who is completely in love with a star named Shanti. Om is just a junior artiste, but dreams of being the star of the show. By chance or by destiny, Om and Shanti meet and end up spending a day together. Unfortunately, Om finds out that Shanti is married to the producer, and is heart broken. However, misfortune befalls Shanti when her husband brutally murders her out of greed. Om tries to save her, but fails and dies as well. He is reincarnated as a movie star and as the son of a famous actor. Due to certain circumstances, Om remembers his past life memories and decides to get back at the producer. Filled with bright colors, cheesy lines (Oh fish!), romance, drama, comedy, Om Shanti Om is a bollywood movie to the max. When actors are dancing and singing all over the place what more could you ask for? A movie I would definitely watch again. :D

And now I must go back to my raging headache and paper. Sad day.
